A sworn translation is a translation of a document that is intended
to be used officially, such as :
- a marriage certificate - a birth certificate
- a certificate of legal residence - an academic license or degree, etc.
A sworn translation is signed by the translator who made the translation and sealed by the court who certified the translator. It should also contain the original text in the source language.
A sworn translation is valid as an official document that can be used in a legal context. Its content must be as close as possible to the original text.
